Our independence

What VettedCounsel does, what it does not do, and how it is funded, so you can judge our materials for yourself.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

We do not rank or recommend lawyers

VettedCounsel does not publish “best lawyer” lists, scores, or ratings, and we do not recommend, refer, or select lawyers. Our materials help you gather and compare information; the choice is yours.

How VettedCounsel is funded

VettedCounsel is funded by the sale of its own guides and workbooks. We do not accept payment from lawyers or law firms, show advertising on our site or in our guides, use affiliate links, or receive referral fees.

If that ever changes, we will say so on this page and clearly label any paid relationship where it appears. Payment will never be presented as an endorsement.

The services we use

We use Gumroad for checkout and delivery, MailerLite for email, and Plausible for privacy-friendly website statistics. They are service providers only and have no say in our content.

Evidence and opinion

Our materials separate what official sources show, what lawyers say about themselves, and what other people think of them. When we offer our own view, such as a question worth asking, we present it as a suggestion, not as a fact about any lawyer.

Verify what matters

Rules and official resources vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Before relying on anything important, check it with the official source for your jurisdiction or ask a qualified lawyer.

Corrections

If you find an error, an outdated link, or a statement that seems unclear, email support@vettedcounsel.org with “Correction” in the subject line. We review every report and update the affected material. Paid documents show their version and date, so you can tell when they were last revised.
